When using Realtor services remember everything is negotiable and commissions cannot be prescribed by law. Find out what the marketing plan is, where the advertising will run including the entire game plan for selling your home. If you have a unique home what are the best avenues to bring in the clients.  Special zoning? Trade publications? The list goes on and on. Remember you get what you pay for. If you negotiate for a lower commission the budget may not allow for extra advertising that may be necessary to sell your home. Interview several agents from different companies. Explore all options and put yourself in the buyer’s shoes. You know your home. Offer suggestions to the real estate agent. Once a decision is made as to which agent you feel will work the hardest to sell your home have everything put in writing including entire marketing plan and then let the real estate agent do his or her job- Relax and start packing!!!
